When the list of tasks was sent to the class, I won’t deny that the word ‘meme’ had me in stitches. Thinking that that was a proverbial sign, I grabbed my friend, Raihana, and took the task. Conceptualizing on what we should do for the posts were pretty easy as we were both quite familiar with memes and had quite a repertoire of meme reaction photos under our belt.

 

The brief was simple, make meme posts that revolves around PSB. Raihana asked me if I had any meme photos we could use, so I pulled out my phone and we scoured through my folder of memes. We didn’t really have any idea going on in our heads when we were searching for appropriate photos. If I’m honest, all we did was find a funny meme photo and create a caption related to it on the spot. Fifty percent of the time it worked and the other times, it got either too explicit or falling flat.

 

Our first few memes were rejected, Ms. Fahimah didn’t really liked our memes that had too long of a caption and she didn’t care for the meme with Tom Holland on it. I try not to get offended by that. I’d say working with Raihana was pretty smooth, we had the same sense of humor so that was great. The only time we had a dispute was when she fought for me to trash the use of the font ‘Comic Sans’ and I said no. In the end, we changed it.

 

It was fun doing this task, something that was done quite swiftly. I’ll put my favourite meme up as an example. That and because I’m just really proud of this meme.
